Bonds Fall as the Market Waits For Friday’s Employment Data
31 May 2007
Mortgage rates increased today after stock market gains and concerns about tomorrow’s economic data.テつ テつ
Theテつ Gross Domestic Product data showed a slower than expected result,テつ which normally wouldテつ drop interest rates, but had no result today due to the Jobs data from tomorrow overshadowing this report, as well as gains in the stock market being directly a result of moving out of the bond market.テつ
A markedテつ increase in the unemployment rate would be great news for interest rates, and could spark a bond market rally.テつ
Watch the market tomorrow and expect volatility.
