Quiet Week for Mortgage Rates?

Monday’s mortgage rate market has opened flat with no significant economic news on the schedule today for release.
Looking forward to the rest of the week, we will see April’s Durable Goods data on Thursday, which shows the health of the manufacturing sector. New Home Sales data is due out also on Thursday, and on Friday will will receive the Existing Home Sales data. Both will give us measurements of housing sector strength. Thursday is the day to watch for mortgage rate volatility this week.
Markets will close early next Friday and will be closed a week from Monday for Memorial Day.
