Rates Climb Again On Economic Confidence in Stock Markets

2 April 2008

Rates continued their rise as investors gained confidence that the United States economy may have hit bottom, and that the worst may be over.   Rates will increase again today by about 25 basis points.

February Factory orders came in today weaker than expected, which is good news for rates, but this report was overshadowed by the overall positive economic sentiment on the markets.

The focus of the remainder of the week is the Unemployment report due out Friday which will confirm or conflict with the theory that things are improving.
