Rates Down on Weak CCI

24 June 2008

Rates dropped again on weaker than expected economic data.  The June Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) came in at its lowest level since February 1992.  This underscores concern about weakness in the economy and suggests that consumers are less willing to spend.  This is good news for the direction of mortgage rates.
