Thursday’s Mortgage Rates Increase

17 May 2007

Thursday’s market has rates up, following the release of some economic news negative to mortgage rates. The Conference Board reported late this morning that their LEI (Leading Economic Indicators) report fell .5 in April, much weaker than expected, but more importantly they revised March’s figures to show an increase of .5% which has prevented improvement in rates.

May’s preliminary ready University of Michigan’s Index of Consumer Sentiment will be due out tomorrow. This measures consumer confidence and willingness to spend.
